On February 16, 18 2022, The CDRRMO Research and Planning personnel together with the Section chief, Ms. Maria Cristina S. Villegas, conducted a BDRRM Plan Oplan Listo Workshop at (2) barangays, Brgy. Toril and Paquibato District in Davao City. Its goal is to create all the plans, programs, and activities of each barangay in regards to disaster-prevention plans incorporated in a book record.
The Oplan Listo is the fundamental component of the Quality Assessment System (QAS) of the NDRRMC to strengthen the local-level, quality based DRRM Planning and budgeting. This aims to enhance the communities to anticipate, cope up and recover from negative impacts of disaster emergency occurrences and disasters. BDRRM plan is the keystone of all the barangays in preparing their barangay disaster risk reduction and management fund investment plan (BDRRM FP). It has a minimum coverage of 3 years, to be used by the barangays as mandate by the DILG (Department of Interior and Local Government).
In line with this, there were (11) total barangays of Toril and (6) on Paquibato district voluntarily participated in the workshop; Brgy. Eden, Brgy. Baracatan, Brgy. Bankas Heights, Brgy. Tibuloy, Brgy. Tagluno, Brgy. Atan-awe, Brgy. Bato, Brgy. Bayabas, Brgy. Tungkalan, Brgy. Sibulan and Brgy. Tagurano, Brgy. Malabog, Brgy. Fatima, Brgy. Panalum, Brgy. Paquibato Proper, Brgy. Colosas and Brgy. Mapula.
It has been stated that barangays should have the BDDRM Plan for the government to support them financially for their barangay to be assisted in all disaster scenarios, activities and initiatives. The CDRRMO Research and Planning will continue to supervise the BDRRM Oplan Listo Workshop on other barangays in the city for a greater unity and provide the greatest possible performance.
