VISION
THE DAVAO CITY DISASTER RISK REDUCTION AND MANAGEMENT OFFICE ENVISIONS A HARMONIOUS CITY THAT IS RESILIENT TO NATURAL AND HUMAN-INDUCED DISASTERS. THROUGH PROACTIVE STANCES AND EFFORTS OF THIS OFFICE, COMMUNITIES ARE EMPOWERED, STRENGTHENING COLLECTIVE DISASTER RISK REDUCTION AND MANAGEMENT CAPABILITIES.
MISSION
THE DAVAO CITY DISASTER RISK REDUCTION AND MANAGEMENT OFFICE IS GEARED TOWARDS LEADING THE CITY IN PLANNING AND COORDINATING DISASTER RISK REDUCTION AND MANAGEMENT EFFORTS AMONG AGENCIES BARANGAYS , AND INDIVIDUALS.
EDUCATION CAMPAIGNS ARE ALSO INTEGRAL TO THE OPERATIONS OF THIS OFFICE, BUILDING CAPACITIES OF COMMUNITIES AND STAKEHOLDERS IN ADDRESSING DISASTER AND CLIMATE CHANGE VULNERABILITIES.
EFFORTS OF THIS OFFICE ARE ALSO CEMENTED BY INSTITUTIONALIZING POLICIES, STRUCTURES, COORDINATING MECHANISMS, BUILDING DISASTER-RESILIENT COMMUNITIES IN DAVAO CITY.
THE DAVAO CITY DISASTER RISK REDUCTION AND MANAGEMENT OFFICE IS ALSO DRIVEN TO ENGAGE GOVERNMENT INSTITUTIONS, CIVIL SOCIETY ORGANIZATIONS, AND THE PRIVATE SECTOR IN DISASTER RISK REDUCTION PROGRAMS.
Events and Activities
CDRRMO Training on “Air to The Ground Operations”
On December 2, 2021, two (2) City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (CDRRMO) personnel together with the Task Force Davao, Task Force Samal, Central 911, Police Regional Office-11 (PRO-XI), Philippine Navy, Eastern Mindanao Command (EastMinCom) and other uniformed units participated the “Air to the Ground Operations” training conducted by the Philippine Air Force at Tactical Operations Group (TOG-XI) Headquarters, at Barangay Sasa.

CDRRMO River Camera Project
On November 8, 2021, The City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office and the City Government of Davao companions in providing quality service to the public throughout the years. CDRRMO has generated activities in disaster preparedness and prevention mandated by the office to establish the best performance. In that matter, the establishment of the River Camera Project is another breakthrough for advanced innovation approved in guidance to the plans and programs of the City Government of Davao specifically in improving the response to the potential risks in flooding incidents in Davao City.

SIREN PHASE 2
The Davao City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office's (DCDRRMO) Citywide Multi-Hazard Early Warning System Project Phase 2 has recently finished the ocular inspections and will be installed at the strategic sites.
Phase 2 of the project comprises the additional 7 Remote Siren Alarm Systems that will be installed on the following proposed strategic sites:
Brgy. Sirawan, Brgy. Talomo, Brgy. Bucana, Brgy. Maa, Brgy. 23-C, Brgy. V. Duterte and Brgy. Panacan.

Mangrove Planting and Coastal Cleanup Activity
Mangrove Planting and Coastal Cleanup Activity with Volunteer Responders, BDRRMC Responders and our very own Davao City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office.

3rd Davao City-Wide Shakeout Earthquake and Tsunami Drill
The City Government of Davao through the Davao City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office conducted the 3rd Davao City-wide Shakeout drill .

Walk The Creek 2019 at La Verna Hills Subdivision
With the recent flooding at La Verna Hills Subd., the Davao City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (DCDRRMO) conducted the “Walk the Creek” activity at Sasa Creek along La Verna Hills Subdivision, Barangay Cabantian, Buhangin District. Along with DCDRRMO on the activity are government agencies, whom are members of the Technical Working Group (TWG) on Risk Assessment, namely;
• City Planning and Development Office (CPDO)
• City Social Services and Development Office (CSSDO)
• City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO)
• Office of City Building Official (OCBO)
• City Engineers Office (CEO)
• Barangay Cultural Communities and Affairs Division (BCCAD)
• Association of Barangay Captains (ABC)
• Ancillary Services Unit (ASU)
• Davao City Police Office and Department of Public Works and Highways – Davao City District Engineers Office (DPWH DCDEO)
The activity started by 9:00am with the abovementioned agencies, some media and a few locals, gathered at the entrance of the subdivision. It aims to conduct an actual assessment of the TWG at the Sasa Creek’s flooding problem along the La Verna Hills Subdivision, and to determine an ultimate solution to the problem.
